Description

Looking to take on a new project or two. I've been a songwriter for many years, have been in bands before, and I enjoy working with a collaborator far more than I enjoy working alone. Let's talk. Me: - Both local & professional experience as a vocalist & topline composer for various work. Mezzo-soprano, roughly 3-octave range, but consider myself a songwriter first, singer second. - Some past work here (all lyrics/melodies/vocals mine): http://www.soundcloud.com/lirayin or same name on Spotify - Once the songwriter/frontwoman of a new wave punk-ish band - http://cratertheband.bandcamp.com You could be: - a band - a multi-instrumentalist/producer with some experience and a broad range of musical interests - a live musician looking for local gig partners Good music is good music, genre regardless. Some current interests of mine (not limited to these - open to suggestions): - darker or more experimental pop, esp. with complex textures & dance influences. examples include Aurora (e.g. "In Bottles", "Soft Universe"), Allie X (e.g. "Fresh Laundry"), Phantogram; Royksopp (e.g. Running to the Sea, Monument), etc. - atmospheric things - dreampop, shoegaze, etc. - cinematic-ish work with sweeping soundscapes or lush sound design (Conjure One, Sleepthief, Delerium, some of Florence & The Machine's work, etc.) - similarly, always curious about film scoring & video game scoring (my last album sounds like it'd fit well in a cyberpunk game, and I love everything Supergiant Games does) - folksy stuff with harmonies, especially male-female ones. you know the type. - always open to industrial/psy/symphonic metal/things that you usually listen to if you wear a lot of black. I've listened to Nightwish since Tarja, used to model my voice after Sharon den Adel, used to DJ hard/tech trance... I'm still happy to make it a future thing. Happy to list some of my many, many other influences, too. Looking forward to hearing from you. Please reply with links to your work or demo samples!
