Description

An exploration of Old World and New World wine growing, winemaking, climates, and styles, and how to read different types of wine labels. Have you ever wondered why a grape grown in one part of the world tastes differently from the same grape grown in another part of the world? Are you curious why certain grapes are grown in many places around the world but others grow in only one area? Do you know the difference between viticulture and viniculture, and why they both matter? In our first wine education night of 2021, we are taking you on a deep dive into how climate features, laws, and other factors affect the style of the finished wine. We will compare wines grown in the Old World (Europe) with wines grown in the New World (everywhere else). We'll also help you break down different types of wine labels, including those really confusing and opaque ones so common in European wine. We'll pour two whites and two reds and our sommelier John will walk you through the tasting. $40 per person, inclusive of tax and service charge. 40+ carefully selected wines by the glass • Full bar • Small plates • Retail wines and spirits
