The New York Marine Rescue Center presents a lecture on Cold Stun Sea Turtles
Cold stunning is a condition similar to hypothermia that is brought on when these cold-blooded sea turtles are in water temperatures below 50°F. Since cold stunning is a condition that slows the movements of afflicted sea turtles, it causes the animals to get washed ashore on New York beaches. This condition, left unnoticed, can become fata. This is why the New York Marine Rescue Center (NYMRC) needs your help! The sooner these sea turtles are found and reported to the NYMRC, the higher their chance of survival!
Hybrid Event: To register to attend in person, email [email protected] or call (631) 324-0222, Ext.3. Those attending virtually will receive a Zoom Link 15 minutes before the start of the program.
