Formed during an impromptu late-night jam at Jazz Fest in 2012, the relentlessly funky, soulful band believes in music as a higher power. They effortlessly tap in to an energy that is simultaneously sexy and spiritual; ferocious and full of finesse. These songs mainline inspiration into every audience, leaving no choice but to dance or just stand there in amazement. Widely regarded by both fans and peers as one of the hottest drummers currently residing on planet earth, Nikki Glaspie has the cred to back that up and then some. She was Beyonce’s world-touring drummer for five years before she joined Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk. The joy she emits while playing only accentuates the superhuman beats she throws down. Nate Edgar (John Brown’s Body) is flat out one of the funkiest bassists you will ever have the pleasure of laying eyes and ears on. He practically destroyed the Crazy Horse last time he was here with the Joe Marcinek Band. Then you have singer and guitarist Nick Cassarino – a pure embodiment of what soul is all about. He’s been Jennifer Hartswick’s right-hand-man for awhile now. He owns a distinction not too many other guitarists can claim, having traded licks onstage with the legendary Trey Anastasio. And it couldn’t hurt to tell you that he has also toured with Big Daddy Kane. This was one of the shows we were the most crushed to cancel during the pandemic and exuberantly ecstatic to announce now.
