Test your Science knowledge, have fun, and raise money for Zoo Idaho's Education Programs! Test your science knowledge while also participating in an engineering challenge. Prizes will be awarded to the Trivia Winner, Challenge Winner, and for the Best Team Name. Advanced registration required! Cost: $15/team (up to 5 people) Location: Jim Dandy Brewery, 305 E Lander St Zoo Idaho's mission is ‘Preserving Intermountain West wildlife and habitat through conservation and education’.The Zoo started in 1932 as a small exotic facility with one raccoon and chimpanzee. During the mid-70s the zoo committed to exhibiting only indigenous species of the Intermountain West. As the zoo transitioned it developed a strong relationship with the Idaho Fish and Game and the US Fish and Wildlife Service to acquire animals that could no longer thrive within the wild. The zoo, in a sense, became a sanctuary. Starting in 2014, Zoo Idaho has placed significant emphasis on conservation and education. Education programs increased throughout the Pocatello. Zoo Idaho works with public & private organizations to develop projects and exhibits focusing on Idaho conservation. We currently provide programming to approx 10,000 people a year.
