WILMINGTON, MA — Reading Municipal Light Company won state grants to build two electric vehicle charging stations in Wilmington, it told the Board of Selectmen recently. The board voted June 28 to have Reading Light accept the money granted for a station at Town Hall. The board voted to have Reading Light reject the other money, for a station at Yentile Park, and to request the funds for a station at the library instead. Reading Light has budgeted for one charging station in each town it serves, General Manager Coleen O'Brien told the board. The money budgeted for Wilmington will be used to cover any costs not covered by the state funds. Christopher Huffaker can be reached at 412-265-8353 or [email protected].
