Get Out of Your Comfort Zone and Get on the Road Hello and welcome to July. This is the month we celebrate America's freedom. I hope everyone enjoyed Independence Day on July 4th. We live in a great nation filled with passion, possibilities, and a multitude of opportunities.  Each first Monday of the month, I create a new vlog to inspire and motivate the 60 and beyond population to thrive in older age. I focus on a new subject or topic that I think is relevant and one that I hope you'll find valuable. This month, it's Get Out of Your Comfort Zone and Get on the Road. Recently, I took a road trip to North Carolina and stopped at some amazing places along the way that had beautiful beaches, native culture, and lush landscapes. Road-tripping can be fun and memorable depending on how you plan your journey and who you share the experience with. It's a great time to be present, to reflect, and disconnect your mind from your daily concerns and work-related existence. It can be a time to relish in a stress-free experience by engaging with places and activities that are not part of your day-to-day routine. It helps you to be mindful and present. It's also a great opportunity to meet other people from different parts of the country and around the world that you might not otherwise meet. Road trips add adventure to your life and can take you to incredible places. And, they take you out of your comfort zone, which is probably one of the greatest advantages to a road trip. We're all used to our neighborhoods, our local stores, and our friends and family that live nearby who help stabilize our daily routines. But, when you get out on the open road, you are embarking on a new journey that can enlighten you and motivate you, open your mind, and take your breath away. At least that's what it did for me. I'm already planning my next road trip.  It took me about one month to plan my trip and I stayed within my budget. You don't have to break the bank to have a rich experience. So, wherever you are thinking of traveling, begin it. Road trips are thrilling, and we live in a gorgeous country that has a vast array of things to see and experience. Don't forget to buckle up!
