DANVERS, MA — The good boys of Danvers will have to look for another place to play about for about the next two months.
The town is closing its dog park for approximately seven weeks starting July 12 for planned renovations. The improvements include making sure the park is accessible and mitigating the migration of the stone surfacing. Other renovations are intended to help improve user comfort.
"While we strive to address all of our users' concerns, we are limited by budget and conditions associated with the park's proximity to the wetlands," town officials said. "We will continue to monitor conditions and make improvements based on recommendations by you, the users."
While the park is closed, dog owners are reminded that dogs must be leashed at all times in other areas of Endicott Park and throughout the town. Violators are subject to a $25 fine.
