HBM is looking for an experienced groundskeeper to maintain a prestigious independent private school. Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Facilities the Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the landscape of the property. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Mowing lawns, removing weeds, trimming shrubs, planting new greenery, and removing unwanted trees. • Performs regular preventative, reactive, and predictable maintenance on irrigation systems, landscape, hardscape, and drainage systems. • Conducting all job duties in accordance with company policy and all safety protocols • General handyperson functions to satisfy jobs throughout the facility. Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities): • High School Diploma or equivalent Basic knowledge of gardening irrigation and landscaping work, and the various tools required to perform landscaping/gardening work. • Ability to communicate with property staff and team members in a clear, professional manner. • Ability to adhere to company safety protocols. • Able to work independently and complete tasks. Working knowledge of irrigation, erosion control, IPM (Integrated Pest Management), and landscaping work, and the various tools and material required to perform landscaping/gardening work. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, pull, push 50 pounds. Exposed to wet or humid conditions and inclement seasonal weather, summer heat, cold weather. Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting. Other Requirements: Valid Driver License Must be able to pass federal background check.
