We have been teaching ASA sailing courses and providing charter services since 1983. As a world-renowned sailing location, the San Francisco Bay is an ideal place to learn about all aspects of the marine industry. We are growing rapidly and there are opportunities for career advancement. JOB SUMMARY: The Fleet Staff maintains a highly reliable, safe and attractive fleet of sailboats. We also make sure that our customers, boat owners, and instructors are satisfied with the level of care we take in our Fleet. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE: - Fleet Readiness Preparing all boats and ensuring they are ready for the charter Refueling, topping off fresh water tanks, pumping out holding tanks and interior and exterior cleaning Provide high quality customer service - Boat Handling Fueling the boats at the local fuel dock Boat deliveries and sails - General Fleet Maintenance Diesel Engine Servicing and Repair including installing new engines and transmissions Electrical installation and troubleshooting of 12-volt DC systems Waste systems, heads, macerators, holding tanks and pump out systems Fiberglass and Gelcoat repair Rigging including full re-rigs, tuning, splicing lines and sail repairs and changes Marine systems, bilge pumps, nav lights, battery chargers, etc. PERKS We train in all aspects of boat maintenance and repair and will have you well on the way to maintaining your own boat or working in a commercial boat yard one day. We also offer complimentary ASA sailing courses and clinics. Do you want to earn your Captains License but don't have the sea time or experience? Modern Sailing offers employees the use of club-owned boats and staff go sailing multiple times throughout the week. Learn sailing skills from your experienced coworkers. Logging your sea time at your own pace. Modern Sailing offers on-site US Coast Guard Captains License courses making it easy to achieve your license. If your goal is to become a sailing instructor, we offer instructor certification courses. We are seeking an energetic, full-time Fleet Staff to join our team.
