Bail Set At $3 Million For Man Accused In Sam's Tavern Shooting

BELLEVUE, WA — A King County judge Wednesday found probable cause on allegations of domestic violence homicide against the man accused of shooting a woman working at Sam's Tavern in Bellevue on Monday night. Investigators allege Dylan Scott Jennings, 34, stole a handgun from his brother's safe, then shot and killed his ex-wife, Anna "Maxx" Lopez inside the bar before running from police. Lopez died from her injuries at the scene, and officers found Jennings hiding several blocks north shortly after the shooting and took him into custody. In court filings, a Bellevue detective said Jennings called his brother and admitted to the shooting, then called his father while he ran from police on foot. Jennings' brother called 911 and also reported his handgun was missing. During an interview with detectives, police said Jennings admitted he killed Lopez and said he stole the safe with his brother's gun inside several days before and was able to break into it. According to police, Jennings said he knew Lopez's work schedule at the bar and planned the shooting for after the holiday. Detectives said Jennings alleged infidelity and "showed little remorse" speaking about the shooting. At a first appearance hearing Wednesday, the judge found probable cause for first-degree domestic violence murder and agreed to set bail at $3 million. Prosecutors said Jennings waived his right to appear and was represented in court by an attorney. A formal charging decision is expected by Friday afternoon.
