The Info Session will follow the tour starting at 1:00 PM in the Hill CDC Conference Room on the 2nd floor at 2015 Centre Avenue. These spaces are either available now for tenant improvements, under construction, or in pre-construction with construction beginning later this summer. So, the time is NOW, if you want to be on the Centre Avenue corridor in one of our locations. Please register by Friday, July 16th at 2:00 PM if you are interested in participating. Feel free to contact [email protected] if you have any questions. BACKGROUND The Hill Community Development Corporation (Hill CDC) is developing a Black commercial and cultural corridor along Centre Avenue. The New Granada Square is the heart of the Hill CDC’s economic development work and will serve as the foundation for future development of the Black cultural and business corridor along Centre Avenue in Pittsburgh’s historic Hill District neighborhood. In October of 2020, we held two focus groups to hear more from Black-owned food based businesses in the region. Now we are returning with this info session to connect you to the upcoming opportunities and the next steps for spaces that will be available! ABOUT OUR INITIATIVES Hill’s Kitchen is an initiative of the Hill CDC that is designed to build a corps of food-based entrepreneurs ready to take advantage of the opportunities offered by redevelopment in the Hill District, including reviving the neighborhood by bringing restaurants, coffee shops, and cafes back to the community. HD Rising is focused on pipelining businesses that are interested in locating or staying in the Hill District. Businesses will have the ability to identify their needs and be connected to spaces that are tailored to their preferences, and also connected to resources. The Hill CDC works in partnership with residents and stakeholders to create, promote, and implement strategies and programs that connect plans, policies and people to drive compelling community development opportunities in the Greater Hill District.
