GoFundMe Launched For Family Of Tinley Man Killed In July 4 Crash

TINLEY PARK, IL — Friends of the Tinley Park man killed in a car crash on the Fourth of July have started a GoFundMe campaign to "alleviate the unexpected burden on his family." Alexander Brongel, 50, of the 17700 block of 64th Court in Tinley Park, was pronounced dead at the Silver Cross Hospital Emergency Room just before midnight Sunday. Brongel was the driver of a motorcycle that was struck by another vehicle at 195th Street and Wolf Road in Mokena. The organizer of the fundraising campaign, Ronald Gravitt, called Brongel a "Tinley Park guy through and through." "When he would sit down to have a conversation with you, he would always give you his undivided attention. He was very animated when he spoke, and always a jokester," the GoFundMe reads. "He was a very generous, hard-working, genuine guy, and proud of his blue-collar roots. He will always be remembered by his family and friends and the love of his life, Lily." The woman who struck him was Jansen A. Ardiente, 27, of the 8000 block of Braeburn Lane in Orland Park. On Tuesday, Ardiente was charged with aggravated DUI, according to the Mokena Police Department. Her bond was set at $200,000 and is due back in court Thursday. As of late Wednesday morning, the fundraising campaign has received 20 contributions, and raised $3,110 of its $10,000 goal. If interested, donations to the GoFundMe campaign can be made here.
