Parks After Dark Program Returns To Pasadena

PASADENA, CA — Pasadena residents will soon have the chance to go for a swim underneath the stars or catch a movie outdoors when the city's Parks After Dark program returns Wednesday. The program is now in its 10th year and opens the city's park spaces to evening activities during the summertime for families and youths, according to a statement from the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department. The program will kick off Wednesday at 6 p.m. with a pair of softball games where the parks department will play against members of the city's fire department and residents will go up against members of the police department. "We invite everyone to participate in Parks After Dark this summer," Brenda Harvey-Williams, parks department director, said in a statement. "We're proud to open our parks to encourage healthy living and provide fun, free, family-friendly activities throughout the city." All activities in the program are free to participate but pre-registration online is strongly recommended.
