MONROVIA, CA — A drive-thru Starbucks and Chick-fil-A may soon come to Monrovia if the projects get approval from the City Council during its Tuesday meeting. The restaurant and coffee shop plan to build adjoining locations at the Huntington Oaks Shopping Center near Huntington Drive and Encino Avenue, according to a City Council agenda report. The development would include building a 4,562 square foot restaurant for Chick-fil-A while Starbucks would take up 2,200 square feet. If approved, both businesses would include an outdoor dining space, a repaved parking lot and "pedestrian linkages between each of the businesses," according to the report. Part of the project would also involve 8,600 square feet being dedicated to future parkland use by the city. The Monrovia City Council will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and meetings can be streamed online at foothillsmedia.org/monrovia. Members of the public can participate in the meeting by logging onto Zoom and using the meeting ID 898 7139 0561. People can also call 669-900-9128 and access the meeting using the same Zoom ID.
