LAKEWOOD, OH — Over Independence Day weekend, news broke that iconic Lakewood bowling alley and bar Mahall's 20 Lanes had been sold. The business is being taken over by Cory Hajde, who runs Cloak & Dagger in Tremont. He has also booked shows for Mahall's and other concert venues around the state. One of the current owners, Kelly Flamos, will surrender ownership of Mahall's, while her partner Joseph Pavlick will remain with the business. Hajde told Cleveland Scene that taking over Mahall's was a "dream come true." He said he wants to "expand the realm of possibility," at the business. Mahall's first opened in 1924 and remained in the Mahall family until 2012, when Flamos and Pavlick took over. Besides its bowling lanes and concert venue, Mahall's has long been known as one of the best fried chicken spots in Northeast Ohio.
