GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Forsyth County officials have issued warrants for a Buford woman charged with insurance fraud and forgery. According to a statement from the office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John King, Michelle Leigh Desjardins, 41, is accused of altering medical documents and omitting pages to present an incident as taking place later than hospital records showed. She then filed a claim for the maximum limit of $10,000. "Fraud drives up insurance rates for all Georgians, and I am committed to bringing criminals like this to justice," King said in the statement.
