Free furniture for veterans or active military

Where can I donate used furniture to veterans? I have a bunch of furniture that I'd like to donate to veterans. I know Habitat for Humanity will taken wooden pieces but they won't take any stuffed furniture (couches, chairs, etc.) Because most of it belongs to my veteran brother-in-law, who now lives with me as he has Parkinson's, I think he'd really like knowing his stuff is helping out other veterans. The majority of the stuff is in Riverside and neither he nor I are physically capable of moving it. I have seen the names of lots of veteran organizations but I don't know which are legitimate and which are scams. Willing to donate also to active military personnel too. Any advice would be helpful.
