As a Tow Truck Operator with Val-U Auto, you keep traffic moving and get people out of harm’s way every day. We are regularly updating our fleet and running medium and heavy-duty trucks creating opportunities for growth with the company. You will be supported by our 24/7 management and dispatch team and be driving one of our up to date and maintained trucks. No CDL required! WHAT YOU WILL DO: • Respond to emergency roadside assistance calls. • Respond to police calls and accident cleanup. • Perform tire changes, lockouts, jump starts, winching and towing. • Take calls from dispatch and track job completion. • Maintain the appearance and basic maintenance of company trucks. WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE: • Valid driver’s license with clean motor vehicle history. • DOT Medical Exam ( we can help you with cost and scheduling) • Be dependable, do what you say and show up on time. • Willingness to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. • Ability to interact with customers and first responders. • Basic phone and computer skills. WHAT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE: • Ability to work flexible hours. • Prior experience operating a tow truck. • Prior customer service experience. • Mechanical skills. • Prior automotive work experience. • Commercial Driver’s License. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Val-U team member: Physical: The team member must have sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment; to walk throughout the day, stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand, arm and shoulder movement in the performance of daily duties, carry, push and/or pull light to heavy amounts of weight, frequently lift up to 30 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; ability to verbally communicate to exchange information with public; ability to see and hear in normal range with or without correction.
