Chateau Lake San Marcos is searching for a custodian to work at our premier retirement community in San Marcos, CA. Our goal is to provide a superior level of sanitation throughout our property. Essential Job Functions: • Perform general and deep cleaning throughout the community • Maintain floors and carpets • Remove and pick-up trash in trash rooms and throughout common areas • Work with cleaning chemicals • Set-up/take-down for onsite events • Responds to utility emergencies • Proper/Continuous communication and patience with elderly residents • Proper/Continuous communication with all departments to ensure a smooth shift • Direct Maintenance to any issues that require immediate attention • Perform other tasks as assigned by department Director Qualifications: • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Ability to be on your feet majority of your shift • Bend, stoop, lift several times during the day • Ability to read and speak the English language Physical Requirements: • Capable of standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching continuously throughout a shift • Capable of pushing and pulling a maid cart, linen cart, or various equipment (over 100 lbs) on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout a shift • Capable of pushing and pulling furniture and equipment (25 -100 lbs.) frequently Benefits: • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement plan • Paid Time Off available as of your first day of work. • College Scholarships Job Type: Full-time (40 hours) Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Tuesday - Friday) 8:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. (Saturday) Experience: • 3 years (Preferred) Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $15.00 per hour
