Residential Garage Organization Specialist

Jobs

Austin TX

Description

Summary: Koncept Garage creates fun and functional garages for our clients and we do this in under 1 hour of their time. They hold us to a high standard and we do everything in our power to provide them with an amazing experience. Most jobs take 2-3 full days to complete and we work together as a team to complete each one. Work ethic, communication and good character are what we look for. Every team member votes on new hires and you'll need unanimous approval if you expect to join our team. This role is a great opportunity for someone technical who enjoys physically demanding work and is looking for a career in a construction-related field. Our Hiring Process: After you apply, we'll message you a few questions to answer. Then you'll speak to our Founder on a video call. Pass these two tests and you’ll be sent our Team Policies & Procedures and invited to “try out” for a ½ day on one of our jobs (which we’ll pay you for). If your try-out is successful, meaning we all vote in favor of adding you to the team, you’ll be notified via email and begin a 90-day on-the-job training program. Who We Are Looking For: “The work we do is a reflection of who we are. If we’re sloppy at it… late at it… bored by it… it becomes a mirror of who we are inside.” – Michael E. Gerber We’re looking for someone energetic & hungry with technical knowledge, who has their own tools and equipment (list below), who enjoys variety in their work and can independently manage their responsibilities. Someone who desires an opportunity to do meaningful, life-changing work (hard work) that provides immediate results, who wants to learn new, valuable skills and become a part of an ambitious and competent core team of professionals. Maybe... you do handyman gigs through one of the many apps and need a source of bigger job opportunities. Maybe... you’ve worked for a moving company or a landscaping business, thought it was too mind-numbing but would enjoy similar more stimulating work. Maybe... you’ve graduated from trade school and find yourself struggling to accept the long road ahead if you were to continue working in the trades as an apprentice. If this sounds like you, this might be the opportunity you’ve been hoping for. We are looking for people who take pride in their work, who love having a great reputation, who hold themselves to a high standard and value their skills. We focus acutely on all the small details. Our team members are sharp, proactive and professional. Most applicants do not measure up to our standards. Those Who Do Measure Up Are: Adaptable – you can listen and take direction as well as step up and take the lead - you take responsibility and get the job done. You understand that unforeseen issues arise and see them as opportunities to think strategically, plan your new course of action, learn and grow (as opposed to barriers and obstacles and the world hates you) Good attitude – you are positive, friendly and grateful for the opportunities. You have an optimistic outlook and have the integrity to do the right thing, not the fastest thing Great values – You see your skills as tools to help others. “Yes ma’am, yes sir, please and thank you” are part of your everyday vocabulary. You stay true to your word as a person of integrity (i.e. showing up on time, completing what you agree to complete) and you do not need someone looking over your shoulder in order to do the right thing. What You Bring: Every project is similar but different. Although the scope of work varies from job to job, our processes and systems standardize the jobs which makes it easier for you to thrive, delight the clients and grow with us. The personal traits you have, which help us best serve our clients, are… Ability to focus (the opposite of multi-tasking) Attention to small details (a result of focus) Safety-first mindset (also related to focus) Humility to say “I don’t know” Ambition to find the answer (problem solver) Self-discipline to produce results without any accountability Willingness to hold yourself accountable and take responsibility for your part Strong collaboration ability (teamwork) Clear communication skills (when you speak, people understand you without needing clarification) Efficiency, which results in work completed fast (you work smarter, not harder, measure twice to cut once, you plan then execute) High-quality craftsmanship (you take pride in your work and do not cut corners) If you want to win, if you can hustle and work with integrity, if you are a curious learner, if you know how to practice gratitude and strive to serve others through your work, if you like bonuses and client praise, then we want to hear from you! As a contractor, you will need your own tools & equipment (list below). What We Are NOT Looking For: “There is no such thing as undesirable work. There are only people who see certain kinds of work as undesirable… people who look upon their work as a punishment for who they are and where they stand in the world, rather than as an opportunity…” – Michael E. Gerber If you want to show up to a job 10 minutes late, mentally check-out and collect your money at the end of the day, this is not for you. If you like working with headphones in, taking breaks to answer your phone, checking your Instagram every 15 minutes or would like to keep your shoes clean for your evening plans, this is not for you either. If you are part of the reason residential contractors have a terrible reputation for being late and unreliable, always cutting corners and not living up to their expectations, we sniff this out in a heartbeat - don’t waste your time. Your Potential: If you’re a good fit with our vision and values, as we grow the business, there will be plenty of opportunities for promotion. You might choose to become an outside salesperson, an estimator or a construction manager with us. How We Uphold Our Core Values: When we try-out new team members, we view ourselves as your client (which we technically are). If you don’t delight us, leaving us eager to tell our friends about you, we simply won’t invite you on another job. We uphold our core values through this lens because if we aren’t thrilled with your work, our clients won’t be either – and that is bad for everyone. Tools List For Contractor: push broom dust broom w/ dustpan driving impact driving bits for impact drill drill bits (up to 1") 4ft level tape measure stud finder 6ft ladder rubber mallet hammer ratchets and socket sets extension cords box knife Job Type: Contract, Part-time Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour COVID-19 considerations: All non-vaccinated team members are required to wear masks while working.
