Description

For immediate work contract: 1-2 persons needed for short-term job in residential rental apartment on NW Side of Chicago. 2-3 years experience with construction material demolition/deconstruction with an emphasis on competency in dust-free best practices in a construction environment. 3-5 years drywall experience including installation with an emphasis on joint taping and mudding. 2-3 years Carpentry experience with an emphasis on basic trimwork(baseboard and quarter-round moulding) and kitchen cabinet installation. 3-5 years of Painting experience including careful preparation of painting surfaces and thorough protection of flooring surfaces and all appliances and fixtures. Experience OR "Fast Learner" in working safely and cleanly, including wearing full Personal Protection Equipment during periods of potential exposure to certain airborne contaminants. This includes the use of coveralls, N95 masks, booties, and eye-protection as well as the use of Air Scrubbers, negative air set-ups, filtered shop vacuums, and careful disposal of construction materials***. ***Employer will furnish all PPE, tools, equipment, and basic training as necessary ***Employer can provide certain tools as necessary for one worker, addt'l workers may need to furnish their own Be prepared to work with following tools/skills as needed: Drywall hand-sanders, drywall handsaw, oscillating multi-tool, reciprocating saw, miter saw, 9" paint rollers and trays, power drill, drywall T-square, paint drop cloths and tarps, Painter's Tape, 12' adjustable ladders education requirements: High-school diploma language requirements/preferences: fluency in English, conversational in Greek and/or Polish Potential for ongoing, consistent, similar short-term jobs depending on results
