TUCSON FOSTER NEEDED URGENTLY Imagine being killed just because you are diabetic, or even worse because you are peeing a lot (a diabetic problem that comes from your sugar being too high). That is what will happen to this girl if we do not find a foster by this Friday 7/9. A clinic in town reached out because family members do not want to keep this girl and will have her euthanized. Diabetic dogs are not for everyone, but they deserve a chance to live and be happy and once their glucose is regulated, they do very well. She is underweight at 26 pounds, 8 years old and dog friendly. She also still has her eyesight, but does have cataracts. Diabetic dogs need 2 strict meals a day, no treats, no free feeding and they get 2 insulin shots 12 hours apart. It can be scary at first, but it really is pretty easy after the first couple that you do. We can help you. We pay for food and medical but we urgently need a foster for this girl!
