Summary/Objective We are looking for a Lead Carpenter to oversee a small team of craftsmen in building our customers remodels, new builds, and general maintenance projects for both commercial and residential sites. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Review plans and work orders for any deficiency in design. • Lead the building using a team of 1-2 assigned craftsman. • Coordinate with subcontractors to complete their portion. • Ensure building meets or exceeds building code. • Liaise with customer about change orders • Ensure jobsite material is delivered and acceptable for use. • Enforce company policies and procedures. • Cooperate with the rest of the staff • Follow all health and safety regulations Competencies 1. Customer/Client Focus. 2. Teamwork Orientation. 3. Thoroughness. 4. Time Management. Supervisory Responsibility: This person will direct 1 or 2 people underneath them along with subcontractors. Work Environment: The lead carpenter works in a general construction setting both indoor and outdoor. Physical Demands: Walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours. Is subject to lifting over 75 pounds. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 5:00pm. With some evening and weekends. Travel: You are expected to provide your own transportation. Most jobsites are in the BCS area. Occasional travel outside may be required and will be reimbursed. Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Training certificate or professional license is preferred. Preferred Education and Experience: The lead carpenter should have a minimum 10 years direct experience. Additional preference is given to people who have trained professionally through a technical program. Background: We do background check and are willing to work with people who have a criminal background depending on the offence and dates.
