My Bike was stolen sometime between roughly 6pm on 7.5.21 and 9am on 7.6.21. It was locked with a ulock and a cable lock. Thief cut the ulock, took the lock and the bike, and left the cable lock on the floor. Bike was locked in a "secure" bike room in the Meetinghouse apartments, which requires a resident fob to access, so like, there's a very real chance that somebody who lives in my building helped somebody else steal my bike.
It was a white Surly Midnight Special, 54cm. It was different from the stock build in that it had a generator front hub that powered a USB charger that came out of the top cap above the stem. The stem was engraved with the phrase "Stay Safe." The tires were 650b x 54 Schwalbe "Smart Sams. Also featured a Salsa front low rider rack, white jagwire compressionless brake housing, purple Salsa bar wrap, a black brooks saddle, 2 PDW "lucky cat" bottle cages and 1 generic bottle cage. Some of the surly decals had been removed, including the headbadge, and several stickers had been installed by yours truly.
The thief went out of their way to get this bike (there were other, unlocked bikes in the same room that are still there) and so they probably know that they have to disguise it, and so I probably won't be getting it back, but it was a special, personal thing to me, and it was not easy for me to get it either, and I want it back. Please, if you have any information, contact me.
Attached is the most recent photo I have of the bike in its current configuration. The bike is listed as stolen on 529 garage with some older photos at project529.com/garage/bikes/tire-grips-lock-bell/bolo
Portland police department incident number is 2021-913015
