This posting forum is a perfect example of how desperately we need mental health services in America. The Reagan administration closed mental health facilities nationwide. As a result, we have record levels of drug addiction from people who are trying to cope with their mental illnesses. We have record homelessness because mentally ill people struggle to assimilate into society. Housing costs are one reason for the homeless epidemic in america but the larger majority of homeless people need mental health facilities and drug treatment facilities. Ignoring the mental health crisis in the U.S. is not working. It’s time to reopen mental health facilities.
