Architectural Signage and Environmental Graphic Design firm seeking an individual to join our team as an install technician. GDS Inc. is one of the leading design, fabrication, and consultant companies in the signage industry with a rich portfolio of private and commercial projects on both a local and national scale. From creative conception to final installation, we have developed the most successful process for outfitting major buildings, campuses, and facilities with every type of interior and exterior identification and wayfinding signage. The ideal candidate will work primarily on the road performing interior and exterior sign installs, but will also be required to help with production work on days when the installation schedule does not require a dull dispatch. You must be mechanically skilled, prepared, punctual, and willing to travel within a 3-4 hour radius of New York City. Overnight stays will be required from time to time for projects that require multiple days on-site away from NYC. Requirements: Signage or construction industry experience preferred, but not required Hand and power tool experience required Clean driving record Basic computer skills Local and legal to work in the United States We are looking for someone who has the ability to work independently, is solution-based, team-oriented, and physically strong. The install technician will be dispatched from our production facility in Hauppauge, NY, and required to frequently pick up products and attend meetings there. This will be a hybrid position. The candidate will share time between helping with installation and also assisting in our production shop as needs warrant. Production Duties: Assist with sign fabrication and assembly, including cutting material, painting, taping, wrapping and shipping. Assist in receiving deliveries and keeping the shop clean. Installation Duties: Accompany installers on-site visits, assist in putting up signs for both interior and exterior projects, including channel letters, awnings, floor graphics, vinyl, post signs, and our signature ADA signage. This is a long-term opportunity for the right person. We do a background check and a DMV check, so please only apply if you are confident these will come up clean.
