A neighborhood empowerment movement focusing on civic action and government accountability
Baltimore consists of over 225 neighborhoods, mostly working independently to address/tackle/solve problems that many of our neighborhoods are challenged by socially, economically or environmentally. Neighborhoods uniting to address common problems – is the key for maximizing local resources to improve the quality of life for ALL neighborhoods in Baltimore City.
Neighborhoods United is a new a neighborhood empowerment movement focusing on local civic action and government accountability that results in direct, tangible, and real time improvements within the community. We invite ALL neighborhood groups and associations to come out, meet and join forces with other neighborhood organizations throughout Baltimore.
What are the goals of Neighborhoods United – Baltimore
1. Inspire local residents within their neighborhoods to organize and mobilize
2. Share best practices, resources, ideas and other assets helpful towards neighborhood improvement
3. Collaborate by building mutual partnerships with multiple neighborhoods
4. Synchronize action by conducting community based events/activities in multiple neighborhoods simultaneously.
