LOCALS ONLY! is a new music series brought to you by The MAIN Theatre in Newhall that will feature bands from the Santa Clarita Valley There are over 100 bands that call Santa Clarita home. These groups, who are mostly in it for fun, represent every musical genre and feature musicians from every walk of life, generation and career path. LOCALS ONLY! is a new music series brought to you by The MAIN Theatre in Newhall that will feature bands from the Santa Clarita Valley. Come out and enjoy an intimate evening of great music by some cool people from your community! Sean Wiggins Sean and her band have toured the U.S. sharing the stage with Montgomery Gentry, Blues Traveler, Cyndi Lauper, The Bodeans and many others. The band has appeared at many festivals, including the Gilroy Garlic Festival, California Mid-State Fair and Oktoberfest in Big Bear. Monkey Bump Monkey Bump is five musical primates out of Santa Clarita that rock out selections from the ‘60s through today. The Village Voice calls these guys “Who?” The LA Times said “stop bugging us; we won’t review you.” An audience member at the Encino Carnival said, “I had to put down my corndog so I could sing along.” Future X Husbands Future X Husbands is a Los Angeles County-based rock band with an alternative edge that plays songs from the 1950s to today. The scaled-down band will present an acoustic experience for this show. The MAIN is the home for music, comedy, film, theatre, visual art, classes and workshops, meetings and serves as the welcome center for visitors to Old Town Newhall. The venue has been around for 20 years but, as of February 2017 the City of Santa Clarita took over operation and management of the space. The theater has been transformed into a multi-use arts center including a monthly rotating art gallery, and free programs every Thursday night. The venue is also available for private rentals, filming and productions.
