Description

You have been invited, through a personal connection, to learn about alternatives to the drug war at this in-person dinner. Join us in exploring health-centered responses to drugs and addiction instead of a criminal justice response. This event will include a plated dinner, a 30-minute presentation by End It For Good's Founder, Christina Dent, based on her 2019 TEDx Talk, followed by a guided discussion with attendees. ABOUT END IT FOR GOOD: Even with the 2nd highest incarceration rate in the country, Mississippi still has high rates of drug addiction, drug-related crime, broken families, and a rising number of overdose deaths.  In response to experiences as a foster parent, Christina Dent began to research why drug-related harms aren't decreasing.  That research led her to found End It For Good, a conservative nonprofit inviting Mississippians to consider how regulating the drug market again and addressing drugs and addiction as a complex health crisis instead of a criminal justice issue could significantly decrease harm and increase quality of life for all of us.  Christina is politically conservative, an evangelical Christian, and a born-and-raised Mississippian.  Over 1000 Mississippians have already come to similar discussions in 13 cities across the state, including local and statewide elected officials, law enforcement, pastors, doctors, judges, prosecutors, business owners, people in recovery, and people impacted by addiction or incarceration. What have they found? "The event was great, very eye-opening and professional." - NB, Yazoo City "It was very worth my time because you gave us facts to think about not just opinion." - CC, Laurel "There’s nothing about it that feels forceful or intimidating if you don’t agree with the ideas presented." - EF, Jackson "Questions and answers were encouraged, but kept on point." - CG, Ocean Springs "When I left I felt encouraged that people were looking at different options to end the crisis beyond incarceration." - LC, Southaven "After attending I felt most hopeful about the possibility of change in Mississippi.  And if there's a possibility of real change in Mississippi there's an even greater chance of change nationwide." - JM, Hattiesburg  We believe we can significantly reduce societal drug-related harms while keeping more people alive with better opportunities to thrive if we're willing to consider a different path. **You're welcome to bring a guest, but each ticket must be reserved under that attendee's name. We are excited to see you there! *All registrants will be added to our monthly newsletter. Feel free to unsubscribe if you're not interested. End It For Good is a conservative nonprofit that focuses its work in Mississippi, where it was founded. We invite people to consider ending a criminal-justice approach to drugs and instead handle drugs and addiction as complex health issues. Follow us on the End It For Good Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages (@enditforgoodms), or join us at an End It For Good live event. We aren’t advocating for drug use. We’re advocating for an approach to drugs that protects human life and improves quality of life for all of us.
