UCHS Inducts11 Alums into 2021 Hall of Fame Leaders in business, military, education, medicine, arts, philanthropy and more University City High School to Induct 11 Alumni Into 2021 Hall of FamePlease Join us on October 1, 2021 as we celebrate 11 University City High School alumni who’ve enlightened our world on a local, national or global scale when we induct them into the prestigious University City High School Hall of Fame. The celebration of University City High School’s finest graduates will take place Friday evening, Oct. 1, 2021, at University City High School, located at 7401 Balson Ave. (63130) from 5:30 to 9 p.m. with heavy hors d’oeuvres and silent auction. Reception from 5:30 to 6:45, ceremony follows in the auditorium. Cocktail attire. The 2021 selected honorees are: Kathryn (Pierce) Banks, ’93, a lawyer dedicated to providing fair representation to children and families dealing with the family court system.Jennifer (Roman) Boynkin, ’82, the first woman president of a $4 billion-a-year shipyard that produces atomic aircraft carriers and submarines.MSG Donavan "Donny" Nelson Butler, US Army, Retired, ’89, a 29-year retired veteran of the U.S. Army who led the fight for civil rights and equity for his fellow servicemen of color while in the military establishment.Reena Goldthree, ’99, an assistant professor in the Department of African American Studies at Princeton University specializing in the history of Latin America and the Caribbean.Linda "Cookie" (Dickson) Jones, ’83, a devoted local volunteer and champion of University City and University City Schools.Daniel Kaufer, ’77, (deceased), a neurologist specializing in the targeted and humane treatment of patients and families dealing with Alzheimer's Disease and dementia.Earl Kessler, ’59, An internationally renowned architect specializing in housing and sustaining communities in some of the most vulnerable places in the world.David Levi, ’77, An internationally recognized glassmaker.Helene (Wagman) Sherman, ’62, A professor of mathematics education who has authored dozens of textbooks and articles and helped generations of teachers improve their skills.Richard Stack, ’70, Pioneering founder of a food bank and communications specialist who has used his skills to write books and produce a documentary advocating for the end of the death penalty.Stephanie Williams-Nelson, ’77, a dancer, Hollywood actress and soap opera star who now advocates for children. This year’s Hall of Fame inductees will join a long and prestigious list of alumni to have graduated from University City High School. They include playwright Thomas “Tennessee” Lanier Williams; internationally renowned rap artist Cornell “Nelly” Haynes, and Marlon West, the lead effects animator for beloved Disney films, and many more. Their photos will join more than 100 others hanging in the main hallway of University City High School. The UCHS Hall of Fame was established in 1999 for the purpose of honoring graduates from each era of the school’s history. These are individuals who have brought honor to the school through notable contributions to their fields and the world. Although the induction event occurs every other year, each January the District publicly calls for nominations. Ticket Information:Early bird general admission tickets are $50 per person by Sept. 8 ($400 for a table of 8) After Sept. 8, general admission tickets are $75 per person. (Sept. 24 deadline)Sponsor a University City High School student to attend: $50 for each student.Gold Contributor tickets are $100 per person by Sept. 8 (includes sponsoring a student to attend and a notation in the event program).
