Live-in Caregiver

We are seeking a live-in caregiver for our 21-year old who has cerebral palsy. Here are the tasks: Provide care which includes bathing, toileting, feeding, assistance with homework, taking him on walks, stretching and massaging, assisting with medication, accompanying us to the grocery store, doctor's appointment, accompany us on family vacations and weekend getaways, cooking and housekeeping and other tasks as assigned. Please note: you have to be comfortable with transfers. He is a fairly tall guy and he weights about 80 pounds and is in a wheelchair. We do have a hoyer lift as well. Hours: Typically, you will be working about 30 hours a week on average, however, it may be longer on some weeks and some overnights are required. The schedule changes on a weekly basis but would mostly stay consistent during the school year. We are looking for someone to start asap. We are looking for someone who will hit the ground running, provide A+ care for our awesome little guy. You must be patient, have a sense of humor, kind, have an out-going personality and have a genuine compassion for people with physical challenges and the disabled. You must be drug free, over the age of 18, no criminal background, and you must have experience with special needs. We will do a background check and you must have a drivers license. We will provide a room with your own private bathroom. However, you must be clean and treat our home with respect. You will also be responsible for housekeeping, i.e., keeping the house clean and tidy. We are a pretty active and fun loving family and we never let his disability get in the way of having fun.
