Description
Join us for a donation based CliqueCycle Class to raise money for rare cancer research, in honor of Kelsea Bruce Pesci. (Stationary bike) We are running in the 2021 NYC Marathon by raising money with Freds’ Team to advance innovative cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Our goal is to raise as much as we can to support game-changing research, and your donation will give me a boost as we train for our race. In 2020 Sydney lost her sister, Kelsea, to a very aggressive, rare form of cancer that she fought so hard for three very difficult months at MSK. She was only 31 years old -- two and half years ahead of Sydney. She was her best friend and biggest fan. Kelsea previously challenged Sydney to complete a marathon before she turned 30. At 28 that seemed easy --- until she got sick. Sydney stopped doing anything at all that didn't involve visiting her. Julia Hohn, Sydney’s close friend also had the goal of running a marathon and discovered Fred’s Team. Fred is one of the founders of the NYC Marathon who was also treated at MSK. By running with Fred's team , Sydney can make Kelsea proud by completing the race one month before her 30th birthday while, more importantly, raising money to help others. Please help to do this alongside a few of her very closest friends; Julia Hohn, Melissa Johns Graham, and Sheena Theriot. Together we formed RUN KBP in honor of my sister, Kelsea Bruce Pesci. Join us for Clique in for Cancer for a stationary bike spin class on August 1st, Kelsea‘s birthday. Clique Cycle is a place that Sydney came to express her grief in a healthy way. With the lights off, loud music, and high energy, it has provided a place for healing. Clique has now transformed into cross training for the marathon as well. Get ready to cycle, sing along, celebrate Kelsea, and raise money for others to have a fighting chance against cancer in the future. Every dollar you donate gives doctors and researchers the resources they need to make life-changing discoveries that bring real hope to people with cancer and their families. As global leaders in cancer care, MSK treats patients with over 400 subtypes of cancer each year, and the breakthroughs made in MSK labs set new standards for cancer treatment around the world.
