Hey there, The Sunrise Movement Bay Area Trainings Team is putting on a Leaders of Color Orientation Training, and we'd love to have your support! If you could share this information with others too, we’d really appreciate it. The ongoing pandemic, movements for anti-racism, emerging natural disasters, and their many intersections with the climate crisis demonstrate that we need a Green New Deal now more than ever. The scale of the climate crisis and the inequities therein call on us to bridge the gaps between race, class, gender, and marginalized communities. We know that the movement for climate justice and collective liberation has to be led by young people who best understand the stakes of the crisis—people of color, workers, and folks from other marginalized backgrounds. If you are a young person of color (around 35 & younger) looking for a meaningful way to protect our climate, our homes, and our values, join Sunrise Bay Area’s Trainings Team at our Leaders of Color Orientation Training on Sunday July 18th! With content created by and for Black, Indigenous and other non-white people, this training has been designed to build the knowledge, perspectives, and community we need to create the massive changes we require. The content in this training is intended to engage people of all organizing backgrounds and experience levels and is aimed to help you build tangible organizing skills that will help you begin taking action.
