Description

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly is looking for candidates to become the city's first "Artist in Residence" as it seeks ways to help the artist and cultural community recover from the effects of the coronavirus health crisis. The Beverly Arts District (BAD) launched the pilot program, in cooperation with the city, to provide the chosen candidate with free studio space and a three-month stipend in the Beverly Arts District. The goals are to activate a vacant storefront as a part-time artist's studio and attract foot traffic to the Beverly Arts District. The artist will be able to feature his or her own work, as well as organize galleries and other events that showcase the city's arts community and its recovery from the pandemic. The deadline for applying for this position is Sunday at 10 p.m. Applications can be found here or by contacting the Beverly Planning Department at [email protected].
