EAST HARLEM, NY — Police asked for help this week identifying two men who fired gunshots from an electric scooter in East Harlem last month.
The shooting happened around 3:35 p.m. on June 13 in front of a bodega on the corner of East 115th Street and Second Avenue.
Surveillance footage shows two men riding a Lime rental scooter along 115th Street. As they turn the corner, the man in the backseat takes out a gun and fires it toward a group standing on the sidewalk, sending them scattering, the video shows.
The pair then fled north along Second Avenue and turned east onto 116th Street. No one was injured and no property damage was reported, police said.
Police released surveillance footage of the shooting on Monday and asked for help identifying the two suspects. They asked anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips online or on Twitter, @NYPDTips.
