WOODBRIDGE, VA — Multiple shootings were reported over the holiday weekend in Woodbridge, according to a report from the Prince William County Police Department. A shooting on Monday left a victim with serious injuries. No injuries were reported in shots fired incidents elsewhere in Woodbridge and in Dumfries, police said. However, homeowners on Crest Maple Drive and Bayou Bend Circle found gunshots had entered their homes. The weekend's most serious shooting occurred on Monday in the 2200 block of Princess Anne Lane in Woodbridge. Authorities said several rounds were fired from outside of a home and traveled through a living room wall before striking a man. The man, a 25-year-old, was left with multiple gunshot wounds, according to a police report. The victim was flown to a nearby hospital to receive further treatment. Authorities believe that the shooting suspects fled the area in a vehicle before first responders arrived on the scene. A helicopter from the Fairfax County Police department assisted in the search for suspects, but they were not located. Another shooting was reported in Woodbridge around 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 4. A homeowner in the 11600 block of Maple Crest Drive told police that he heard a loud noise and noticed damaged near his home's stairwell. Authorities determined that a bullet entered the home through a window before stopping at a landing near the stairs. No injuries were reported. In Dumfries, a shooting was reported on Friday, July 2. In the 17400 block of Bayou Bend Circle, a homeowner heard a loud noise during the night. Officers determined that "several shots were fired into the home that entered through the front of the house and struck the stairwell, walls, and the ceiling," according to the police report.
