GREENWICH, CT — A Stamford woman was killed in a four-vehicle crash on I-95 in Greenwich on Saturday night, according to the Connecticut State Police. Police said that Josephine Sciarrino, 45, was driving her 2018 Audi A4 northbound near exit 2 in Greenwich just before 10 p.m. on July 1 when she was hit by a Mercedes Benz, sending her off the roadway on the right-hand side, and into the rear of a tractor trailer that was parked on the shoulder. Sciarrino was pronounced dead at the scene. Following the impact, police said the Mercedes struck a 2013 Honda Accord LX, and spun off the roadway, striking a light pole off the right shoulder of the highway. The driver of the Mercedes, a Stamford man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by Greenwich Emergency Medical Services to Stamford Hospital for evaluation. No other injuries were reported, and all vehicles were towed away. The investigation remains ongoing, police said, and anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Connecticut State Trooper Jeffrey Pretel, #1104 at Troop G in Bridgeport or by email at [email protected].
