Description

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ The Point Pleasant Beach borough council will be holding public hearings on two ordinances at their meeting on Tuesday night. The first ordinance up for public hearing is an ordinance that streamlines the borough's rules towards outdoor dining. It would also allow restaurants in the borough to continue to offer outdoor dining once the COVID-19 pandemic has ended. "When we jumped into the state of emergency, we were trying to approve everything we can, we were letting people do whatever they wanted, and quite frankly, a lot of it looks like it was thrown together at the last minute," Point Pleasant Beach's mayor Paul Kanitra said during the ordinance's introduction at the June 1 borough council meeting. The other ordinance up for public hearing is a bond ordinance for various water and sewer improvements in the borough. Tonight's meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. and can be watched on the borough's YouTube channel.
