I'm a 50 year old bass player. I always play for fun but there have been a surprising number of more talented musicians than me that are happy join a jam. I learned bass on rock. I spent some chops in North Carolina on mandolin. I moved to central Florida and finally decided to buy some drums and a good guitar. I can fill in on mandolin, rhythm guitar or simple drums. I've been here five years and can't run into people comfortable enough with themselves to play music for shits and giggles. Let's just jam. If people like it they like it... if they don't... we still like it. I figure if you like the Dead then you probably like music, period.
