Event for hospital employee who died of COVID-19 raises $3,000

Runners, walkers and others raised more than $3,000 on Saturday, May 22 in Aurora at the inaugural Jose Segura Memorial 5K/8K Run/Walk. The event was held in memory of Jose Segura, a medical assistant at Elmhurst Hospital, who died of COVID-19 in May 2020 at the age of 53. The proceeds of the event, which was organized and hosted by Oscar Segura, Jose's brother, were donated to the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation. Donations are still being accepted through GoFundMe at www.gofundme.com/f/in-honor-of-jose-segura-for-elmhurst-foundation.
