Press release from the City of Golden Valley: July 6, 2021 The first two Firefighter recruitment meetings of the summer will be held July 8, 9:30 am and 6:30 pm, at Fire Station One. Recruitment meetings are a great place to meet face to face with firefighters and learn about the hiring process, training, schedules, and more. Although attending a recruitment meeting isn't required for hiring, it is highly recommended. The deadline for applying to become a paid on-call firefighter is Aug 9, 11:59 pm. Applications can be found on City website under Employment Opportunities. To be a Golden Valley firefighter, you must live or work within nine minutes of a City fire station and be age 18 or older.
