This recruitment is utilized to fill Prosecutor levels I – III positions. The level and compensation offered will be based on the education and experience provided in the application. Prosecutors hired at a level I will be compensated at a range of $61,484.80 - $66,206Prosecutors hired at a level II will be compensated at a range of $72,467 - $84,053Prosecutors hired at a level III will be compensated at a range of $90,189 - $121,306 About the Office of the County Attorney We believe in integrity. Composes memoranda and pleadings regarding legal issues of concern as needed in assigned casesHandles felony post-conviction litigation, juvenile appellate litigation, lower court appeals in Superior Court, special actions, and other litigation before the Arizona Court of Appeals, Arizona Supreme Court, and U.S. Supreme CourtResearches and analyzes legal issues using both computerized legal research and hard copy toolsRepresents the State in probation violation court proceedings regularly, including making appropriate disposition recommendations and responding to both oral and written motions when necessaryResponds to written post-conviction motions and petitions including but not limited to Rule 32 post-conviction relief, commutation of sentence applications, motions to modify probation terms, and motions to restore civil rights Complies with all rules regulating professional responsibility, including specific rules addressing the prosecution functionMaintains professional relationships with victims, witnesses, law enforcement agencies, and members of the communityConducts and supervises evidentiary hearings and presents oral arguments as neededDiscusses and presents analysis of criminal legal issues with trial attorneys, supervisors, and the County AttorneyNegotiates the resolution of assigned cases in compliance with Victims' Rights and covers court and other duties as assigned Selection Procedure The Maricopa County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates considered to be the most highly qualified.
