Assistant Superintendent Golden Triangle Construction, Inc. Assistant superintendent’s responsibility includes assisting the project superintendent with the overall day-to-day supervision of field related construction activities, but not limited to: schedule and timely completion of trade work, control of onsite labor and materials, oversee quality control program, adherence to the contract documents and overall responsibility for a safe and secure environment. Onsite contact for suppliers, subcontractors, architects and owners, GTC assistant superintendents are responsible for establishing a professional work environment including, fostering a positive atmosphere, promoting open and effective communication, facilitating problem solving techniques to minimize conflict in a constructive manner. Responsibilities • Manage day-to-day field activities and schedule to ensure timely completion of tasks and overall project schedule. • Help create short-interval, 3-week look ahead schedules to ensure upcoming tasks are communicated and the required materials and equipment are procured. • Quality control of self-performed and trade work prior to and post installation. • Enforce compliance with the contract documents. • Enforce compliance with OSHA Regulations and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. • Administer weekly safety meetings. • Enforce compliance with Storm water Regulations. • Establish and maintain dimensional controls, including oversight and back check of 3rd party survey personnel. • Ensure compliance with local jurisdictions, schedule and engage in building inspections. • Help Superintendent conduct weekly subcontractor meetings. • Participate in weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings. • Manage self-performed work to ensure timely completion and cost control. • Manage project close-out and punch lists to ensure timely completion. • Maintain daily paperwork; timecards, tool box talks, email correspondence, help with schedule updates, delivery tickets, quality control checklists, etc. Minimal Qualifications • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the construction industry with a commercial general contractor engaged in general building and civil construction. • Minimum 4 years’ experience as an Assistant Superintendent with a commercial general contractor engaged in general building and civil construction. • Education: High School or equivalent • Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written. • Current safety credentials to include OSHA 10hr, 1st Aid and CPR. • Must demonstrate an understanding of construction means and methods associated with civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical construction. • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and other software used in the construction industry.
