Be part of a tight-knit crew, perform line clearing and tree trimming duties for Lewis Tree Service. We're the 2nd largest vegetation management company in the country and employee-owned. As a Tree Trimmer Trainee, you will work with our utility customers and can expect to: - clear trees and limbs, trim or remove trees and broken limbs from wires, roofs, etc - climb trees for manual trimming and removals in and above the power lines - prepare, operate and maintain all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts - remove limbs and brush, cleanup and dispose of debris - mix and apply spray chemicals, preserving desirable vegetation - safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the working area - help enforce on-the-job safety practices In exchange for your efforts, we provide: - Specialized paid training & certifications - Career advancement opportunities - Health insurance plans - Paid time off - Employee stock ownership plan - Retirement & savings plans options - Employee assistance program - Shift Stability and year-round employment What you'll need to succeed: 1) ability to perform physical labor such as lifting a minimum of 50 lbs to shoulder height or more 2) capable of operating two-handed equipment (chain saw, circular saw, etc.) 3) the physical ability to endure extreme climate variances as you'll be working outdoors 4) willing and able to obtain specialized training and certifications as required, such as: a) Tree species identification b) Local, state and federal licenses c) First Aid and CPR cards d) Pass a pre-employment drug test Lewis Tree Service is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
