Project Superintendent GTC’s Project Superintendent provides the knowledge, skills and experience required to manage the day-to-day field operations. The Project Superintendent is accountable for the overall management of the site including but not limited to: schedule and timely completion of trade work, cost control of onsite labor and materials, installation of quality work (self-performed and subcontracted), adherence to the contract documents and overall responsibility for a safe and secure environment. As the onsite contact for suppliers, subcontractors, architects and owners, GTC Superintendents are responsible for establishing a professional work environment including but not limited to ; fostering a positive atmosphere, promoting open and effective communication, facilitating problem solving techniques to minimize conflict in a constructive manner. Responsibilities • Manage day-to-day field activities and schedule to ensure timely completion of tasks and overall project schedule. • Create short-interval, 3-week look ahead schedules to ensure upcoming tasks are communicated and the required materials and equipment are procured. • Quality control of self-performed and trade work prior to and post installation. • Enforce compliance with the contract documents. • Enforce compliance with OSHA Regulations and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. • Administer weekly safety meetings. • Enforce compliance with Storm water Regulations. • Establish and maintain dimensional controls, including oversight and back check of 3rd party survey personnel. • Ensure compliance with local jurisdictions, schedule and engage in building inspections. • Conduct weekly subcontractor meetings. • Participate in weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings. • Manage self-performed work to ensure timely completion and cost control. • Manage project close-out and punch lists to ensure timely completion. • Maintain daily paperwork; timecards, daily field reports, tool box talks, email correspondence, schedule updates, delivery tickets, quality control checklists, etc. Minimal Qualifications • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the construction industry with a commercial general contractor engaged in general building and civil construction. • Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Project Superintendent with a commercial general contractor engaged in general building and civil construction. • Education: High School or equivalent • Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written. • Current safety credentials to include OSHA 10hr, 1st Aid and CPR. • Must demonstrate an understanding of construction means and methods associated with civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical construction. • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and other software used in the construction industry.
