Yara is an Argentine black and white tegu who was brought into the rescue on 6/6/21. She was found outside in a backyard in Durham, we did contact local neighbors to try to find her home but no one claimed her. We estimate her to be about one year old and she is fairly friendly and socialized. She's a little wary of new people, but as long as people are slow and respectful, she is docile. Yara loves food but is not the biggest fan of fruits or veggies yet. We make turkey meatballs with many fruits and veggies mixed in, and recommend trying other diet options such as Reptilinks to encourage her to eat her fruits and veggies. Tegus do require large enclosures, grow tents can make a good enclosure and are not as expensive. We would recommend a 6x3x3 minimum enclosure for her. Yara's adoption fee is $125. PLEASE READ!
