We are looking for an experienced automotive technician to join our growing company. The individual in this role will be responsible for diagnosing and servicing cars, from basic maintenance and minor repairs to full automobile service. We are a busy, family-owned shop with over 25 years in the auto repair industry and are looking forward to the next 25 years Automotive Technician Duties and Responsibilities: - Must be able to work independently and without supervision - Follow checklists to ensure a thorough examination of all vehicles based on customer request and/or concerns - Perform basic maintenance including rotating tires, checking fluid levels, and changing oil - Repair or replace worn parts and systems such as spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors - Identify mechanical and electrical problems with both computerized diagnostic equipment and the naked eye in a timely manner - Keep detailed records of all parts, labor, and fluids for each vehicle - Maintain a clean and safe shop environment Automotive Technician Requirements and Qualifications: - Must have own tools - High school diploma or equivalent - Must be a team player with a good working attitude - Valid driver’s license with a good driving record - Strong mechanical aptitude with 5+ years of automotive mechanic work history - Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to use diagnostic equipment. - Safety emissions certifications - Physical strength and stamina, and ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted - Experience with electrical diagnosis and repair preferred - ASE certification and completion of an automotive technical training program strongly preferred - Welding and metal-working experience desired but not necessary
