Phoenix Habitats is seeking a passionate, environmentally motivated individual to join our team as a Summer intern! This is a full time position from July to September, starting immediately. Job responsibilities include all manners of habitat restoration field work, including hand pulling, mowing and cutting with electric tools and herbicide application, where needed. Interns will also work one day a week on administrative tasks, including research on plants or restoration strategies, or project planning and client coordination. Experience On-the-job training is provided in all tasks, and individuals of all experience levels are encouraged to apply. Instead, one’s core values and abilities beyond our training, such as professionalism, passion and creativity are more important to join the team. Reimbursement Hourly wage for the Summer Internship ranges from $18 to $19/hr, depending on experience. Interns will join our team as an Independent Contractor, and should have a personal healthcare policy. After the 12 week internship, successful interns may be invited to join our team as a full employee, and build their career with us as the company grows and expands. At that time, benefits such as healthcare and paid vacation and sick leave will be provided. Specific Job Requirements This Summer intern will primarily perform field work associated with habitat restoration projects. The position requires physical effort or manual labor such as lifting, carrying (up to 50 pounds), or constant movement while carrying or wearing tools for long distances on steep or uneven terrain. This also includes job situations where speed, agility, and hand eye coordination and equipment operations are a continual requirement. A personal vehicle is required for transportation to job sites.
