VA IRB Study Title: Brain Function and Connectivity in Methamphetamine Dependence: The Link to Neuroinflammation and the Effects of Ibudilast
A study about brain inflammation in meth use-healthy controls needed
Study visits will include interviews, surveys, MRI brain scans, PET brain scans, a blood draw, urine drug screens, and tests of concentration, memory, and problem solving. Participation will last for 2 visits over about 1-2 weeks.
Participation is strictly voluntary and confidential
Participants are paid $200 in the form of gift cards for completing all study visits.
To participate, you should:
• be between 18 and 55 years old
• have no history of alcohol or drug dependence
• be right handed
• have no foreign metal objects in your body (except metal from medical procedures)
• NOT have participated in a clinical trial drug study in the past 3 months
• NOT have donated blood in the past two months
• NOT have a bleeding disorder or be taking anticoagulants
You may or may not personally benefit from being in this study. However, by serving as a subject, you may help us learn how to benefit patients in the future. All imaging procedures are done for research purposes only and will not be assessed clinically.
